I wish I had paid more attention to Pope John Paul II when he was alive. I came to the Church when he was very old and ill and stupidly thought he had little to teach me. I did not understand the Papacy and this ignorance shames me. When I see photos of JP2 now, bent over with illness, age, and their attendant weaknesses I tear up like a baby and often cannot stop the crying for several minutes. It reminds me to pray for Pope Benedict now and to pray to JP2 for the Church as a whole. I intend to make up for lost time, however, and read JP's books and as many encyclicals as I can.

Thanks - I often wonder what it means to be a mature person!

Now all I have to do is find out what it means to look to Christ ;)

I am so happy to be a Christian. I feel that I am most blessed and satisfied to have found a God that loves me no matter what. I am always praying for the church to be strengthed and God's people to be wise.

I also wanted to share an awesome Catholic resource called Catholic Connect.

http://www.CatholicConnect.com

Catholic Connect is a place where you can meet Catholics from all over the world and be encouraged in your faith. You can date, make friends and business contacts. There are also a lot of clubs to join for discussion and you can post events and classified ads. You can also make a profile for your church or Christian band. There are a lot of people on and it is growing everyday, so it is definetly worth it!
