Really? I mean, you can dismiss Farakhan as a looney, but then you go over the Obama Messiah blog and you have to stop and shudder. Is it really possible that we have come to this point? Have the very words of the Christian experience become so utterly lacking in meaning that they have been rendered useless?
Folks, we are in a Post-Christian age. Western Culture as we have known and built upon for the last 1500 years or so is at its end. It's clear from even a cursory glance at these things that the Church's primary mission is to rescue the experience of Christianity from this perversion.
I have an "American Prayer" that is sligtly different from the garbage that is emerging from some sectors of our political culture. We are making idols out of politicians now, but soon we will be fashioning them from clay, tying them around our necks, and smashing what little remains of that old absurd claim that God became a man. Instead we will see the man becomes God. Obama is the first, but he won't be the last.
