La Nouvelle Theologie suggests a new nickname for Archbishop Levada. Since Ratzinger being from Germany was nicknamed the "Panzer" Cardinal, why not call Levada the "Abrams" Cardinal . . . Our tank can kick your tank's ass!

Ah, but the real question is what kind of dog will be be called? Cdl Ratzinger was called God's Rottweiler.

I was thinking a bulldog, but that is too British. How about a chow chow? They are beautiful dogs, but they will rip your head off. Or possibly the Taco Bell dog?

Now Archbishop Levada will be the new watchdog over doctrine: prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. His predecessor was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, who earned the nickname "God's Rottweiler."
But as Archbishop Levada joked in his news conference in San Francisco on Friday, he expects to be "more a cocker spaniel than a Rottweiler" - a description he apparently rued immediately, saying, "No, no, don't print that."
